Why Start a Blog?

Let's make something clear from the get go...I am not wealthy by american standards.  I am only semi healthy.  But, I am most certainly a mom to two gorgeous little ones.  Why start a blog?  Good question.

In April 2013, I did the Arbonne 30 day detox and became much more aware of the crap I was putting in my mouth.  I changed my health, lost all my baby weight plus a few pounds, and also changed the health of my family forever.  Hubby lost 10 pounds too.  This healthy mom is going to continue on that journey to remain gluten free, and dairy free.  Next month, I have a new exercise goal.

I have a ton of debt, mostly from student loans (Fight on, Trojans!).

I have made both good and bad financial decisions in my adult life, while in pursuit of the "American dream".

I believe one of the best financial decisions I have ever made happened just a month ago, when I decided to read Dave Ramsey's book The Total Money Makeover.  I highly recommend it, if you are sick and tired of carrying around a mountain of debt, day in and day out, without really getting anywhere.  After the birth of my second child, I decided that credit cards and carrying debt forever is not the direction that I want to go with my financial life.  It's too stressful, and no fun.  It's no fun because even when I am doing something fun, I'm stressed about how much money it cost and how I'm going to pay for it. It is no way to live.  This mom is going to get wealthy by getting serious about getting out of debt.  The "debt snowball" starts June 1, 2013.

I think life is full of learning experiences, whether it is because you made the right decision or the wrong one.  So I'm going to blog about my healthy and wealthy decisions, and hopefully you, my dear readers, will learn something too.

Two challenges for my readers:
1.  Do the Arbonne 30 day detox.
2.  Read The Total Money Makeover.

You won't regret either one.
